Responsibilities and Services

The Accounting office is responsible for:
  • Safeguarding the financial assets of the Town through the use of sound professional accounting practices and internal controls
  • Ensuring that the financial integrity of the Town is preserved and protected
  • Providing the Town's management with accurate and timely financial information
Services include, but are not limited to:
  • Recording and monitoring the annual operation and capital budget
  • Maintaining a comprehensive, detailed general ledger of all Town financial activity
  • Processing payments for all Town invoices and preparing the bill warrant
  • Coordinating the external audit and preparing the Town's annual financial statements
