Responsibilities and Services
The Accounting office is responsible for:
- Safeguarding the financial assets of the Town through the use of sound professional accounting practices and internal controls
- Ensuring that the financial integrity of the Town is preserved and protected
- Providing the Town's management with accurate and timely financial information
Services include, but are not limited to:
- Recording and monitoring the annual operation and capital budget
- Maintaining a comprehensive, detailed general ledger of all Town financial activity
- Processing payments for all Town invoices and preparing the bill warrant
- Coordinating the external audit and preparing the Town's annual financial statements
