Acton Awarded $400,000 for Complete Streets Program

The Town of Acton has been awarded a $400,000 grant to commence implementation of its Complete Streets program. Last year, the Town received National Recognition as the sixth best Complete Streets policy in the United States.

Fire Chief Appointment

Robert Hart, a 28 year veteran of the Acton Fire Department and Acting Fire Chief for the past four months, has been appointed as the Fire Chief. I wish Chief Hart all the best and look forward to working with him.

Government Finance Officers Association Award

I am pleased to announce that the “Government Finance Officers Association” (GFOA) has awarded our Finance Department with a “Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting” based upon the Town’s FY15 audit submission. 

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management
