The Town of Acton is preparing to pave the commuter lot at the South Acton Train Station on Central Street. The work is expected to take place during the weekends of August 18th and August 25th.
On the weekend of August 18th, the crew will be grinding the existing paved surface to remove any loose or failed sections of pavement. Following that work, we will apply some temporary marks to delineate parking spaces for commuters during the week. The contractor will return the following weekend (August 25th-26th) to apply the initial binder course of paving throughout the lot. Following the paving work, the Town will restripe the parking spaces, repair any damaged curbing and repave the existing sidewalk from the station to Central Street.
No parking will be allowed in this lot during the weekends of August 18th and 25th.
In the event that you are planning to ride the train on those weekends from the South Acton Train Station, the Maple Street parking lot between Main Street and Stow Street will remain open to the public and there is a walkway onto the train platform at this location.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause while construction is taking place at the main parking lot. If you have any questions, please contact the Acton Public Works Department by telephone (978-929-7740) or email (Highway@acton-ma.gov).
