The Acton Police Department Traffic Unit augments our Patrol Division by providing dedicated traffic management patrols. Under the direction of the Special Services Division Commander, the Unit is manned by two officers.

In addition to providing regular traffic enforcement, the Unit is also actively engaged in addressing problem traffic areas throughout Acton. This includes researching solutions to dangerous conditions and improving traffic flow. Any problem areas in Town should be directed to the Traffic Unit unless the issue is considered an emergency. These issues should be reported directly to communications (dispatch).
