Responsibilities
The Acton Police Department (Town of Acton, Massachusetts, United States of America) offers excellent police protection in order to maintain the quality of life expected by its citizens by enforcing the laws of the community and encouraging citizens to respect the law, act responsibly toward those who enforce the law, and assist in upholding the law.
The Acton Police Department protects 22,000 residents every day, including 6,000 children who attend our schools. They provide pro-active patrols and community policing functions, as well as investigate crimes, arrest criminals, handle false alarms, and vehicle crashes.
In addition, they deal with a significant number of social issues, including domestic abuse, homelessness, mental health problems, and medical responses.
