There will be a Special Town Election held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
The Special Town Election ballot includes three questions asking voters consider exempting from the provisions of proposition two and one half, the amounts required to pay for three projects:
- Question 1: Acton-Boxborough Regional School District Elementary School
- Question 2: North Acton Fire Station
- Question 3: Minuteman Regional School District High School
- More information: In April 2016, Annual Town Meeting passed Article 10 approving the Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District’s borrowing of funds to build a new Minuteman High School. The total project cost of the new high school is $144,900,000. Depending on the final amount of the borrowing by the Minuteman Regional Technical Vocational School District, Acton’s responsibility will be between $10,000,000 and $12,000,000 with the tax impact on the average single family home of $590,000 being $57 at the low end to $81 at the high end.
