Acton SSO Public Notification Required Content

  1. Description of the discharge or overflow location(s)
  2. Approximate date and time the discharge or overflow began and it’s duration. Estimated volume of the discharge or overflow;
  3. Identity of the permittee:  The Town of Acton, Massachusetts 
  4. Whether at time of notification, the discharge or overflow has ceased, and if so, the approximate time and date the discharge or overflow ended; 
  5. Identify water and land areas affected or potentially affected by the discharge or overflow;
  6. Regards to precautionary measures to be taken by the public, provide the notice below; 

“Avoid contact with these water bodies for 48 hours after the discharge or overflow ceases due to increased risks from bacteria and other pollutants. The reported discharge or overflow consists, or likely consists, of untreated or partially treated sewage and waste.”
