[ARCHIVED] September 1st State Primary Election Information

The Town Clerk’s office wishes to share some important information related to the upcoming State Primary Election.

The last day to register to vote and change party enrollment for the State Primary election is Saturday, August 22, 2020.

The Election will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the RJ Grey Junior High School gymnasium (12 Charter Road). Similar to the local election held earlier this year, all COVID-19 guidelines (social distancing, building capacity restrictions, and routine sanitization) will be followed. There will be enhanced staffing on hand to assist poll workers.

In-person early voting will be available for the State Primary election. Early voting will be held in Room 9 of Town Hall (472 Main Street) on the following days and times:

Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28: 8:30AM to 5:00 PM

Absentee and Early Voting by Mail is also available for State Primary election. Unlike previous years, there is no explanation needed to vote by mail, due to COVID-19. Voters are encouraged to consider this option. To participate in voting by mail, registered voters must complete and submit an application to the Town Clerk’s office before 5:00PM on Wednesday, August 26th. Applications can be downloaded on the Town’s Election webpage (www.actonma.gov/election), or by visiting Town Hall’s Walk-up service window Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
