Newflash-Community Conversation graphic

The Town of Acton in collaboration with Acton-Boxborough United Way and Acton Boxborough Regional School District would like to invite residents and community members to a community conversation to discuss the plan for migrant families as they move into the new emergency shelter at the Minuteman Inn in Acton.

The Minuteman Inn, along Route 2, was declared as an Emergency Shelter in October, and families are expected to move in mid-November.

The event will include a panel discussion with residents, community leaders and more to discuss the current plans and the anticipated needs of residents. The discussion will also include insight into Haitian culture and the migrant journey.

Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas, while also gaining a better understanding of the process and how to support new neighbors.

WHEN:   Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 6-8:30 p.m.
WHERE:  Human Services Building, 30 Sudbury Rd., Acton
WHO:     The following will be speaking during the panel discussion:
•    Town Manager John Mangiaratti
•    Moderator Rebecca Manseau Barnett
•    Fania Valerie J. Alvarez, Local Resident
•    Acton Police Officer Monicka Jean-Baptiste
•    State Representative for the 14th Middlesex District Simon Cataldo and State Representative Danillo Sena for the 37th Middlesex District
